Joan Popkin, Founder, Principal and Designer

For more than 25 years, Joan Popkin has been beautifying and organizing commercial, corporate and residential spaces with a special flare for fresh and functional design.

With an aesthetic sensibility nurtured by years of training in design and fine arts, Joan Popkin brings an intimate understanding of color, light and space to her work. As the founding principal of JDP Interior Design, she personally oversees each aspect of every design project.

Joan Popkin holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Design and Environmental Analysis from Cornell University. She also studied Architectural Design and Construction at the New York Institute of Technology and Decorative Painting Techniques at the Parsons School of Design.

Upon completing her studies, she worked with prestigious Manhattan design firms including Valerian Ryber & Daigar, where she specialized in residential and commercial interiors and ISD gaining experience in corporate interior design. Later, as Manager of Facilities Planning and Design for Paramount Communications, Joan was responsible for the corporation’s interior design and space planning.

Throughout her extensive career, Joan has continued to work with private clients on their residential property renovations.
